Once upon a time, there was a world beyond this one, just beyond a thin veil of
magic and imagination. While life was not perfect in the Homelands, the many
fable who inhabited them were content at least. That was until the unknown
Adversary caused the Great War. It was a war that spanned over all the fable
lands, leaving no fable unaffected by it. Fables of all kinds drew arms, fighting
the Adversary's army but the evil proved much too strong.
The war raged on for nearly a year and a half before the portals were found.
Those that survived were able to go through these portals of old magic, the
portals collapsing behind them as they were used. It was New York City that
the majority of the fables arrived in and it was there that they built their new
home. Grimmtown was secretly built, not one Mundie knowing anything about
the secret sixth borough.
It has been just over seven years since they've arrived in the New World and
the Fables have adapted themselves to the Mundie world. Animal fables were
given Mundie appearances so they could blend in with the world surrounding
Grimmtown and others chose to de-age themselves and start again. Any
Fables with a bad reputation before the war that fought on the side of good
were forgiven of their past deeds.
Prince Charming is Mayor, but with the elections around the corner, will he be
Mayor for much longer? The Big Bad Wolf is Sheriff, but is Grimmtown still on
his side now that he's been accused of stealing the Witching Cloak? Since the
Greeks arrived in Greece, does that mean other Fables were stranded across
the world? Are the Survivors really the last Fables to escape from the Homelands?
Let's not forget about the Fairy Godmother! Messages from her can only bring
bad tidings. Make sure you're careful of how you act in public, because the
Gossip_Fox is constantly watching!
