[align=center]DOWN TO THE RIVER
The year is 2001 and it’s been quite some time since the defeat of the Dark Lord by young Harry Potter. Though they no longer live in fear, the witches and wizards of the UK do not live in an entirely peaceful time. Since the defeat of You-Know-Who, there have been many political uprisings, with the power of the Ministry shifting hands every few months after Kingsley Shacklebolt retired the position of Minister. Currently most prominent in the political realm, and currently poising the most threat to the structure of the Ministry and Wizarding law as it stands currently, is the People’s Army, a communist group. The poor wizard’s champion, the People’s Army rose in the wake of the destruction and demoralization left from the reign of the Dark Lord. Promoting equality among wizards, the Army has gained much support. Thought the majority of supporters are no more violent or dangerous than your typical wizard, there is a small grouping of extremists at the core of the movement, a core that calls itself the Illuminati. Led by self-titled intellectuals, the Illuminati are a group of witches and wizards modeled very loosely after the muggle organization of the same name, based on secrecy and knowledge. The Illuminati’s motives are much more sinister than those of the People’s Army as a whole, and focuses a great deal upon the idea of wizard supremacy over muggles, and of intellect over strength. These are dangerous people, who seem to have an entire army at their backs. And in the midst of this political turmoil, another group is out and about causing trouble. A small terrorist organization operating under the name Chimera, seems to delight in nothing less than scaring people into thinking You-Know-Who is on his way back to power, though it’s hard to brush them off as a mere annoyance, when their attacks get progressively more aggressive.
