*RULES
number o1, play nice. and we mean this - we will not take any bitching, direspect or crap from anyone no matter who it is directed at. if you willingly act like this you will be banned without warning because you won't be wanted here. if you ever encounter problems with someone, don't hesitate to contact a member of staff 'cause we're well and truly prepared to go and kick ass for ya'. number o2, once you have chosen your character's name, please modify your display name so that it is your characters first and last name. and middle name aswell if you want, we're not fussy. number o3, right, when it comes to graphics, they can be a maximum of 500 in width, they can be any height, it doesn't matter. all avatars must be 100x200, because i like things neat. if you can't make graphics to these specifications feel free to hit me up with a pm, and i will happily sort some out for you. also, i would like to give a quick reminder that we will not accept any myspace/flickr or any play bys of that nature. they're just normal people who take pictures of themselves and using them is creepy. please stick to models, actors, and other celebrities. number o4, know your limits. and by limits i mean character limits. we don't enforce one here we just ask that you remain active with each of them. if we see you lagging with one of your characters, we will ask you to drop them. also, try and maintain some balance when it comes to species and gender. for example, if you have two female characters, try and make your next one a guy and vice versa. number o5, now, for your basic roleplaying etiquette - no godmodding, nobody wants you deciding what their character does. we reccomend keeping things 'open ended' here is an example "Slowly, very slowly as if giving Frankie time to snatch her hand away from his if she wanted to, he raised it to his lips and, still looking into her eyes, pressed a gentle feather-like kiss at the underside of her wrist where her pulse was." (extract taken from sleepless nights) now this, would give frankie the chance to choose how to react to what had just happened, instead of having her reaction chosen. you see? secondly - no marysues, if we see you making a perfect character you will be asked to add in plenty of flaws. no one is perfect. nooooo one. thirdly - keep things real. for example, deaths of parents aren't too rare i suppose, but, death by vehicular accidents are frankly, quite rare and very overused. we don't want a million orphans wandering around the place with no parents because of a car smash. it just wouldn't happen. we have a help section which will give you tips on how to make your characters far more interesting, so make sure to check that out. number o6, when posting, we have a word limit of five hundred words which is a tiny amount and if you can't make that then this site isn't for you. oh, and if you constantly post low word count posts, i will remove you from the site. and you can't say that you didn't know what your word count was because there is a word counter in the posting form (below preview and spell check) and speaking of spell check, we would like you to use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling - no1 wnts to read dis, okay? also, try and post at least once a week, it's keeping your characters alive and active. and, this seems incredibly obvious, but third person posts only. so 'he said/she said' not 'i said' oh, and post templates = love. pretty up your post as much as you like, just don't make it so extreme that you can't read it.. number o7, have fun! i can't stress this enough. we're all here to enjoy ourselves. so, go out and frolick in the wonders of nctt, ♥
