*MOIRA LUCILE BRONTË
[ I N T R O D U C T I O N S ]"MY NAME'S MOIRA LUCILE, BUT CALL ME LUCY CAUSE MOIRA IS AN OLD LADY NAME."
NICKNAMES: lucy, mo, fudge, pudgy-fudge
AGE: nineteen
SPECIES: mist fledgling
FAMILY:MOTHER: adelaide brontë (stay at home mother)
FATHER: percy brontë (government something or other)
SISTER: molly brontë (23)[ U N T A I N T E D ]"WHAT A CUTE BABY! JUST LOOK AT THOSE CHUBBY CHEEKS. AND LEGS. AND ARMS. I'M SURE SHE'LL GROW OUT OF IT. AT LEAST SHE HAS YOUR BLUE EYES, RIGHT PERCY?"
Moira was not a cute little, thin baby. She was born chubby. Luckily for her, most people viewed chubby babies as adorable. Babies were adorable in pretty much any situation. There wasn't anybody that would tell you to your face that your baby was god damn ugly. It was simply an unspoken rule that babies were cute. When her mother Adelaide would cart her around in the stroller, Moira was the center of attention for all the ladies that the pair happened to come across. They would coo about how darling her little girl was, how much her eyes matched her fathers and how her chubby cheeks only made her cuter. Adelaide would smile and nod, thanking the woman. Little Moira would just gaze up at the ladies, giggling while she would try to reach up and snatch their hair. The ladies would leave soon after, whispering to one another about how unnaturally chubby that little baby was, how they hoped she would grow out of it. And Adelaide knew what they thought too, she thought the same thing when she took little Moira home. Moira's sister Molly had been so small, so fragile. She was exactly how Adelaide imagined a baby should look. Moira just...wasn't.
But, this did not stop the mother from loving her daughter. Percy, Moira's father, took pleasure in playing peek-a-boo with his daughter, lighting up once he would see her giggle and reach for her father's glasses. Molly, four by the time Moira was born, constantly tried dressing up her younger sister and placing bows in her hair. Even if the world didn't think Moira was cute, her family certainly made up for it. They loved the chubby little baby with all their hearts.
Even into her toddler years, Moira was still a chubby little girl. Adelaide and Percy figured she would thin out as she grew, she just had to lose her baby fat. It wasn't like they were overfeeding her or anything, it was probably just her genes. They still worried about her health, even if the doctor assured them that she wasn't in any danger."Molly's upset because she can't carry her baby sister; she's too heavy. She says the other neighborhood kids were making fun of Moira while she was running around outside yesterday. Molly told me she wanted to trade in Moira for a sister she can show off that the other kids will be jealous off. Moira is just embarrassing her. I didn't realize six year olds had become so pretentious."Adelaide

Adelaide curled Lucy's hair into cute little ringlets and tied a bow in her hair. She grinned as she took a step back and looked at Lucy. "There now, don't you just look pretty as a picture?" Five year-old Lucy grinned up at her mother and twirled in her new dress. "Thanks mommy, I'm gunna go show Molly my new dress!" And she was off, scurrying to go show her elder sister the dress that mommy had just bought her. Adelaide checked her appearance in her room's bathroom mirror, smoothing out her hair and fixing her lipstick. Percy entered the bathroom, holding two pairs of socks out for Adelaide's consideration. "Do you think this is a good idea, Addy? You know Lucy's been having some trouble getting along with the neighbor kids." Adelaide frowned at Percy's reflection in the mirror. "You're worrying too much. It worked out fine with Molly and Eli. You'll see, Lucy and Orion will be best friends."

Lucy, age six, first day of first grade. There had already been a fiasco at the bus stop, where Lucy ran into Orion and he exclaimed that she had cooties and whatever else. The bus ride there had also been miserable, what with Orion sitting behind her and tugging on her curls. Soon, she'd be safely in the classroom and away from him. Thank goodness. Lucy was wearing another new dress that her mother had bought her. She had been excited for the outfit until she had seen the other girls on the bus. They reminded her of Molly, thin, pretty like a doll. Lucy tugged at the edge of her dress absently.
The bus stopped and all of the kids piled out, Lucy being one of the last to lumber out of the bus. Orion was already next to her, tugging on her hair and babbling about something or other.
"What classroom are you in, Moira?"
"I told you to call me Lucy."
"But your name is Moira!"
"That's an old lady name, Orion!"
"Old lady Moira! Old lady Moira!"
Lucy held her lunchbox tighter to her chest and walked faster, trying to lose Orion in the crowd of little kids. It worked by some divine grace. Lucy was ushered into her classroom, where she was told to put her stuff into her cubby. It was even labeled with her name and everything! Lucy grinned and hung up her looney tunes backpack, excited tor school to start. Strangely, there was a bar of chocolate in her cubby already. Lucy grinned, figuring that someone had left it there just for her. She snatched it up in her hand and tucked it into her desk, deciding to save it for snack time.
All of the kids were seated and upon looking around the room, Lucy saw that Orion was in her class as well. At least he didn't sit near her so he couldn't tug her hair anymore. The class went by quickly until the teacher announced that it was time for lunch. Lucy pulled out her lunchbox and the candy bar. It was already melting once she opened it and the chocolate had gotten onto her hands. She stood up to get a napkin when she heard a cry come from the other side of the room.
"Someone stole my candy bar!"
Lucy looked over and saw Orion, frantically searching his lunchbox in an attempt to find the lost item. He looked up and saw Lucy, hands covered in chocolate. "Lucy stole my candy bar!"
"N-N-no! I found it in my cubby and..."
"No! You STOLE it! Just look at you, pudgy-fudge! It's all over your hands!"
"But...I didn't..."
"Pudgy-fudge! Pudgy-fudge!"

"Orion! Let go of my book!"
Orion grinned, holding the book up high out of Lucy's reach. Twelve year-old Lucy was not tall. Orion, on the other hand, was growing at an alarming rate. Lucy huffed and jumped, trying to reach the novel.
"Come on, fudge, can't you jump higher than that?"
"Would you just give me the book?!"
Lucy jumped again, missing the novel only by inches. Poor awkward Lucy, still bigger than the girls in her class and painfully unfeminine at that. She had to listen to the girls squeal about how their breasts were coming in and how Tony whatshisname had just snapped their bra strap the other day. Orion wasn't any help either. He would walk by her in the hall, passing his finger across her back then snicker. "Still flat, eh fudge?" She couldn't stand it anymore.
Now, I want you to all pay attention. Lucy had never been a confrontational girl. She preferred to just ignore people and hope they would go away. Most times, it worked, but Orion was persistent. What you're about to see here is the beginning of Miss Lucy coming out of her shell.
"I said. GiVE. IT. BACK!"
Lucy shoved him, hard, causing the boy to stumble. He seemed shocked at first that she had retaliated, but he still held the book high out of her reach. Lucy was fed up by now, so longer deciding to be the pacifist. She jumped forward and rammed into his chest, her extra weight sending Orion toppling over. Lucy scooped up the fallen book and ran back into the house, her cheeks flushed red and tears spilling down her cheeks.

Lucy shuffled into the kitchen, tugging on her hair nervously as she stood at the edge of the counter. Adelaide looked up from chopping vegetables and stared at Lucy expectantly.
"Mom...I know what I want for my birthday."
"Why do you look so nervous? I've been asking you for weeks, tell me, tell me!"
"I....I want to move."
"...What?"
"I want to move."
"But Lucy, why?"
"I hate it here."
"Is it because of Molly and Eli? I know they're awful friendly with each other and the PDA gets a little annoying but they can tone it down..."
"No. It's not Molly. It's Orion?"
"Orion? But I thought you two were best friends? He's always hanging around you."
"You know that day when I came home with part of my hair chopped off? He did that."
"He...did that?"
"And all the other things I told you about. He did those too."
"...I'll talk to your father."

Lucy tossed the rest of her stuff in the car and shut the door. She slid into her seat, not wasting any time. Molly was clutching onto Eli, sobbing about how she didn't want to leave and blahblahblah. Lucy rolled her eyes at them and turned to look out the window. Orion wasn't anywhere in sight, probably off plotting some new prank on her. Molly got into the car and slammed the door. She snapped her seatbelt on and turned to face Lucy in a fury.
"You are so selfish! You were just jealous of what I had with Eli! Why can't you just let me be happy for once? I hate you!"
"You know what Molly? Shut up.""But mom, I hate him! He's always the one making fun of me and pulling my hair. He calls me fudge and he's the one that god that mud on my pants. I don't want to live next to him anymore. I don't want to go to that school anymore. I hate Orion, I hate him."Lucy

[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote]"SURE LUCY, I'LL HELP YOU WORK OUT. JUST DON'T BE DEPRESSED IF YOU DON'T SEE RESULTS RIGHT AWAY, EVERYONE LOSES WEIGHT AT A DIFFERENT RATE. I THINK YOU'RE FINE JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, ANYWAY."
The family packed up and moved to a suburb of Chicago during the summer before Lucy's last year of junior high. She was going to be an eight grader, the top of the food chain at school. And a new town meant new changes, new faces and more importantly, a new Lucy. Lucy was fed up with being ridiculed and compared to her sister, so she decided to do something about it.
For the rest of the summer, Lucy teamed up with Molly and worked out every day. They spent each morning at the gym, working out until Lucy was satisfied. Lucy changed her diet too, eating healthy and watching her calorie intake. After a while, Molly stopped coming with her sister. She was getting bored with working out all the time and said that she wasn't going to be an athlete anyway, so why work out? Lucy continued until the school year started, and even after that. She lost most of her weight, slimming down to a healthy size. She could actually fit in her sister's clothes too!
Of course, puberty helped as well. She shot up and slimmed down, even developing some hips. She wasn't outrageously curvy, but her appearance had changed drastically. And the good thing was that Lucy had done it all for herself. She wanted a new image, she wanted to be able to do well in gym class and run around like the rest of her peers. She wanted to do sports!
Once the school year started, Lucy was tempted to try out for some sports, but ultimately decided to focus on her education. She wanted to get in the top percentile of her new class, as usual. Life at the new school was turning out well. She had made some steady girl friends that would come work out with her and she was enjoying all of her classes. The real Lucy was beginning to show, not the timid Lucy that had been ridiculed into submission in younger years.
If you compared Lucy in Tulsa to Lucy now, you'd be surprised by how much she's changed. Not just in appearance, either. Molly and Lucy were getting along better and fighting much less than they had been. Adelaide and Percy were happy to see their daughter's change in attitude. They were just one big happy family again, and it was fantastic."I know you're all wondering why I did it, why I changed myself like that. I didn't do it so I could get a boyfriend like some people believe. I did it because I wasn't happy with myself. I didn't like myself, so I decided to do something about it. I can hear some of you preaching about how you should be happy no matter how you look. Well I wasn't. I'm happy now. I did it for me, not to impress some idiots. Mad at me? Well, I dare you to try living how I did. Come talk to me once you know what I'm talking about."Lucy

[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote]"HAVE YOU SEEN THAT LUCY GIRL? SHE JUST MOVED HERE. I HEARD SHE USED TO LIVE HERE BUT SHE LOOKED A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT THAN SHE DOES NOW."
The day Lucy was marked started just like any other. She was outside reading and dusk was falling. It was almost as if she blinked and it was dark already. Her mother let out their dog, Piglet, and he took off like a rocket. Lucy leaped out of her seat to chase him. The dog stopped near the park, barking like crazy.
"Shush Piglet! What's your problem? The Howards will probably call the police on you again!"
And then Lucy saw him. He was walking toward her, his lips moving. She knew that he was speaking, but she was hardly focusing on what he was saying because a black mist was creeping around her. The man finally reached her and his finger touched her forehead. Her forehead exploded in pain and Lucy shrieked unintentionally. She blacked out then, the last thing she remembered seeing was Mrs. Howard running toward her with curlers in her hair.
When Lucy woke up, she was staring face to face with a vampyre. The woman had a sapphire mark in the middle of her forehead with some markings running down her face. She was speaking to Percy and Adelaide, who were nervously smoothing out Lucy's hair and holding her hand.
"I've heard about this mark, some children in Tulsa have it. You should send her there. They'll know what to do with her."
And that's how Lucy ended up back at Tulsa, the place of her childhood. Her parents expected her to react negatively to the move, but she was strangely calm about it. Lucy was curious to see people that she had known back then. And Orion was on her mind as well, as much as she wouldn't like to admit it. How was that little idiot doing? Tormenting some new girl?
__________________________________________
Lucy had her books neatly arranged on her desk for English, as usual. She didn't recognize most of the children at the House of Night. She didn't really mind, either. It was probably better that she didn't see those old faces, it would bring back painful memories. The professor was calling out names for role call, Lucy's being one of the first. She listened half interested for the rest of the names, until she came across one. Orion Wright. Lucy's eyes widened as she turned to look toward the source of the voice. Oh Shoot! It was him, Orion.
He still had familiar features, but when did Orion grow up? She hated to admit it, but he was looking rather attractive, following suit with his brothers. The rest of the class flew by for Lucy because she threw herself into the lesson, trying not to focus on Orion. Finally, it was time to leave. She snatched up her books and tried to race out of class, only she wasn't so successful. Lucy smacked straight into Orion, sending them both toppling to the ground with her books scattered. And suddenly, all her pent up anger came flooding back again, just like the time when he stole her book.
"Watch where you're going!" She snapped, snatching up her books. Lucy raced out of the room as quickly as she could, not daring to look back."Oh god why is he here? Just when I was starting to like this place! Just when I thought I would be rid of him! And of course, he had to have the same mark as me too. Why would Achyls choose him and me? Is this punishment for running away?"Lucy

[/right][/blockquote][/blockquote]"I LIKE READING BUT I HATE WRITING. I'M AFRAID OF NEEDLES AND HOSPITALS AND I LOVE FLYING KITES. I'M HORRIBLE AT SINGING AND SOUND LIKE A DYING CAT. IS THAT ENOUGH RANDOM INFO FOR YOU?."
LUCY THE SPITFIRE
Our dear Lucy has developed quite a temper over the years. She used to simply just ignore people who made her angry, now she actually fights back. Her bursts of anger come randomly and are sometimes uncalled for. Strangely, Lucy never regrets anything she says. She figures that if she says something in a fit of rage, it had to come from some truth. Sometimes she'll apologize for her temper, but don't count on it.
LUCY THE IGNORANT
Lucy may be book smart, but she's not very street smart. She still figures most kids her age don't have sex and that the worst they do is kiss and hold hands. She figures that most kids act as she does and aren't promiscuous in any way. Of course, she finds guys attractive and has dated before, but she's always ended the relationship before they reached third base, second base even!
LUCY THE GRUDGE HOLDER
If you did something to Lucy ten years ago, she'll remember it, don't you worry. Lucy is a horrible grudge holder. She's still mad about the time her teacher told her she was a liar when she said she had pet a camel before. Her family knew a guy who knew a guy and Lucy ended up petting a camel. Point is, she doesn't take kindly to people who are mean to her or call her a liar.
LUCY THE TRUTHFUL
Lucy sucks at lying. Her lies are always really far fetched and just ridiculous. The good thing about Lucy though is that she can usually keep up a calm face. Sometimes she snaps, like we've seen with her temperamental moments, but usually Lucy is pretty put together. That's thanks to her father, who spent enough time with politicians to know how to do a game face. You want to believe Lucy when she lies, even if her lies do suck. Generally, Lucy is truthfully blunt. She;ll tell you if you look fat in those jeans. Her motto is that it's better to be prepared than laughed at. And trust me, she knows what she's talking about.
LUCY THE BRAVE
Lucy doesn't get embarrassed easily. Surprised? You shouldn't be. After years of being ridiculed, she just decided that it didn't matter if people laughed at her. She'd probably be their boss some day anyway. Because Lucy doesn't get embarrassed easily, she'll ask those awkward questions that everyone's afraid to bring up. She asked her gym teacher in eighth grade why he was always looking at girl's chests when he talked to them. Did she have a spot on her shirt? Yep, that;s Lucy.
LUCY THE DETERMINED
Once Lucy makes a decision, she won't back down. At all. She sticks to her words and will always follow through. Lucy's a determined little bugger and will do anything in her power to get what she wants in life. She's also a curious creature and she simply loves to learn. Once she finds something that she doesn't know anything about, she'll ask a million questions until she's satisfied. Even simple things fascinate her.
